This afternoon finds me very Angry arrived home from work wet and bedraggled after working outside all day to be greeted with the smell of petrol as i got out the truck..
looked under the truck at the fueltank inspected the lines and the injectors, couldnt find a thing... Went into the garage to grab some tools and my work overalls to be greeted with 4.6gal's of petrol on the floor, and do you know why i know its exactly 4.6gal's? because that's what my new IMS tank holds. look at the xr and the fuel tank is empty not normally a problem except i filled it up last night ready for a ride on sat.
Think to myself that 'fuel line must have come off, hhmm how would that happen?'
Nope not that... Ok.... Strip it down after putting sand all over the garage floor, to be greeted with a split/crack on the inside right at the bottom along one of the plastic welds...
Cue lots of swearing and kicking tools and buckets around the garage......... Not a good idea as it happens.........one such bucket glances my XTZ850rx which is up on chocks as i have the front stripped off it while i service the forks..... Yep you guessed it............. down it went..... Now im stood in the garage door looking at a 200kg bike with no forks in on its side (how the hell am i going to get that back up?) a Xr with no fuel tank and no knowing when it will have another one (took 8 wks to arrive from US last time) and sand everywhere.
It was at this point that i really lost my temper........
So to summarise:
- 4.6Gal's of SuperUnleaded Fuel all over the floor mixed with sand. - Xr with no Fuel tank (the uphill struggle to get my money back is yet to start). - Xtz850rx lying on its side. - Xtz850rx with a cracked side fairing. - Various tools scattered everywhere. - The shims and washers from the Fork service rebuild scattered about mixed with the sand, its normally very important to keep these in the order you took them out.. - 1 very broken black Halfords special bucket.
I Have closed the door and left everythig where it was. I am about to go out and get absolutely blotted. Il deal with the crap when in a better frame of mind.

Well bike is back up, i ended up having to go and borrow an engine hoist off a friend in Oxford so a 4hr round trip, there was no way i could lift it up with no handlebars or front end on. Ive put my spare forks in, while i attempt to sort out the mess ive made of the others now.
Damage is not to bad got some scratches in the tank and a few small dents, bent gear lever and a cracked side fairing, but i think i will be able to plastic weld that so no biggie.. the dents? well they just add characater.........Dont they?
Must remember not to take my frustration out on movable objects. jerkit.gif
