Most of you are aware that the UK rally scene is the best thing going for trail riders who fancy their chances at a bit of good, light hearted, old fashion competition with a fantastic atmosphere. There are a number of clubs out there organising great events but I reckon the WTRA are the best event organisers of trail bike friendly rallies. There are always good fascilities and info is top notch and more importantly the courses are really pitched at a perfect level. The courses are great for novices and seasoned riders alike and you always come away with that "fantastic weekend" kind of feeling :D .

As many of you are aware the latest WTRA addition was the WTRA Rally Championship. I think this was a master stroke and I hope that this may lead to some extra events somewhere along the line and perhaps some extra classes.

Here are the current standings for 2009;

Role on the Cambrian and lets hope we see the return of the Red Kite Rally next spring :D

Hi Mike, in fact Hi everybody as this is my first post.

I couldn't agree more with your comments about the Rally scene. I rode a few enduro's many years ago and came back to trail riding a couple of years ago, and I couldn't resist giving the rallies another go.

Myself and a few pals from the West Yorkshire TRF have blundered our way around the Ryedale, the Beacons and the Radnor and had fantastic fun, so hope to see you at the Cambrian and the Hafren.

Regards,

Ian

Welcome to the forum Ian. I presume you mean last years Rydale. Didn't it rain on Saturday. That was a brilliant weekend. I shall never forget the smell of chip fat as Brian Eland spent Sunday afternoon towing people off the campsite in his veg oil powered Disco :lol: .

People will be chatting about where to camp etc for the Cambrian over the next week so we'll probably catch up :D

We actually rode last year and this year at the Rydale, as it's our "local" event, but yes you're right, it was wet last year. I went through a set of sprockets and chain in two days, it was like riding through grinding paste !!!

I have to admit, we have wimped out and decided to stay at Llanerchindda Farm for the Cambrian as we stayed there for the Beacons and it was excellent.

I polished off a brand new set of rear brake pads :oops:

What will you be riding? I'm obviously going to be on the TTR6 (Belgarda with 20ltr Acerbis tank) which seems to be rarer than bottles of crisps these days so we shouldn't be hard to spot.

We'll have 4 KTM's and 2 Honda's in line with our normal Orange vs Red battle.
